Haunted House?

Image
Haha!  Just playing around with Photoshop some more.  This one looked haunted way before I got my hands on editing software! The before, with some editing... The final result.  I still need to work on my masks and cropping, blending and such, but it's coming!

My PhotoShop Skills

Image
I was sent a PhotoShop tutorial from Sandy last night and thought I would put it to use! This was what I started with... (first two photos are mine, the unicorn I found on the glorious interwebs!) And made this... I wasn't really sure where I was going with everything, but this is where I ended up! Thanks for stopping by!  I may have something else this weekend!

Miramichi's Industry

Image
I never really saw the beauty in a mill before.  Until Heidi showed it to me.  This one was taken the night we went out until 1:30 am!  A car decided he wanted to photobomb the picture, but it was still kinda cool. The star burst were strong with this one, so I enhanced them a little.     I also included the original so you could see the difference.   Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Little Shack

Image
This little place caught my eye while driving around one day.  Made it black and white while keeping the house colored... Thanks for looking, come on back tomorrow for something new.

Pink Lilly

Image
Just a pink lily from Middle Island I took last summer.  Thought I would isolate the rest and bring forth the pink. This was before my photoshop learning began. Thanks for stopping by.  Come on back tomorrow!

Shaggin' Wagon

Image
This little gem was parked at the information center when we pulled into Nova Scotia. I had to take a picture! Thanks for stopping by! Come on back tomorrow for something new!

Under The Bridge

Image
Went out with Sandy last night to get some night shots.  We went back and retraces places that Heidi and I went to and a little further.  I wanted a shot of underneath the bridge. I got it, but not as good as I hoped.  Next we traveled to Water Street... Then down to Waterford Green.  The water front.  These were just a few that we took last night.  Thanks for stopping by and come back tomorrow for something completely random!

Messing around with a Silhouette

Image
Just trying out some filters and options on PhotoShop.  These are one of a buddy standing on my step one night under the light. I think it may have been the halloween party we had last year. This first one is the original... Embossed... And solarized... Thanks for stopping by.  Come on back tomorrow for something completely different!

Little Red Garage

Image
This little gem was hiding amongst the trees somewhere between Miramichi and Doaktown New Brunswick.  It was certainly a fuchsia color.  Wish I was able to get up close and personal with it! Thanks for looking. come on back tomorrow for another!

Ghost Ship

Image
Another one I like from the recent night out!  Looks like a ghost ship! Thanks for looking. Come back tomorrow!

Night Time Fun

Image
Thought I would post some shots that were taken at night last weekend.  My good friend, Heidi (from Blue Panda ) came up for the weekend and we headed out for a few hours.  Could have spent a lot more out there too.  Learned a few tips and tricks for night time shooting.  Still working on my PhotoShop skills though! This one is of the art gallery at Ritchie's Wharf. Thought I would "antique" it too... Thanks for stopping by.  I will have another night shot tomorrow!

Horsing Around

Image
These were just some horses at the ferry port.  They seemed to me more interested in eating that what was going on around them. Thanks for stopping by, I will have something new tomorrow...

RoadSide Mountains

Image
The final photo of our round trip to the Cabot Trail is one of the mountain side of most of the second half of the trail.  Driving through this type of mountain side reminded me of the car commercials where they drive a long road of trees and mountains.  It was really pretty. I'd love to go back in the spring when the ice is melting off the stone. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the trip.  I know we did!  Come on back tomorrow for something random!

Love Shack

Image
Well, I am sure it's probably just a fishing shack, or a place to just look out at the water.  Either way, it looked old, and I liked it!  But I had to take it from a moving car because I saw it last minute.  Didn't turn out too bad for speeding along at 80 clicks! Thanks for looking, stop by for the final installment of the Cabot Trail.

Mastodon Butt

Image
"The Things You See From The Highway" This.  Only the back side.  We stopped in Stewiack on the way to the Cabot Trail.  From the highway you see a huge mastodon butt, when you take the exit to Mastodon Ridge , you can see the front, check out a pre-historic house and a pre-historic car, and a pet Dino!  You are also standing halfway between the equator and North Pole! Thanks for stopping by, check back tomorrow!

Rolling Hills of the Cabot Trail

Image
This was one of the best views of the different colors of greens.  I wish I was able to get more of the hills and valleys.  Thanks for looking.  Come on back for another stop!

The Gigantic Rock

Image
We continue the Cabot Trail This beautiful piece of land was close to the end of the Highland National Park.  Thanks for taking the time to check this out.  Come back tomorrow for another look-out point!

Cabot Trail

Image
I had 2 days off together the same week Shawn had vacation.  We decided we'd take a trip around The Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.  Beautiful beaches on one side, and gorgeous mountains on the other.  This photo is of Black Brook Beach (I think).  It's part of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The waves were coming in so clear and bright whitecaps smashing against the rocks... just beautiful!! This, by far was the best part of the trip.  There were lots of look-out points, but I could actually go down on this beach.  I deiced to post a black and white too. Thanks for looking.  Come back tomorrow for another beautiful photo of our trip!

Bikes and Beach

Image
This week will be all about beaches. This on was taken last fall at Oak Point Beach. This bike was imbedded into the sand. Thanks for stopping by.

A Boy and His Balloon

Image
This guy was quite the ham with his balloon.  This was one of his serious moments. Thanks for stopping by.  Come back for tomorrow!

Ladybug ladybug fly away home, Your house in on fire and your children are gone   Anyone remember singing this when a ladybug landed on you?  I certainly do!    I didn't even see this guy until Sandy pointed him out!      Thanks for stopping by.  Hope I didn't get that little rhyme stuck in your head!!

Mother and Daughters

Image
Here is another of my personal edits from the wedding we shot.  The beautiful bride and her daughters.  Again, I am still learning the tricks of PhotoShop. Please bare/bear with me. Here is another one of the pretty flowers hanging in a basket at Mirawood Cafe where the wedding was held. Thanks for stopping by.  Next week will have a theme of beaches and water things!

Happy Canada Day!

Image
I love fire works.  Watching things explode in the air, the beautiful colors and the pretty shapes they make.  This year I actually paid attention to what I was taught about taking photos of fire works.  I thought I would share with you some of the decent ones I got last night for the Canada Day show. My personal Fav! These turned out kinda neet Bubbles! Karlene, if you're looking, these pink ones are for you :) Dragon? Reflections... And because there were so many... my attempt at capturing fireflies!! Thanks for looking!! **I cheated a little and used iPiccy instead of practicing with PhotoShop!
